| Bio: | William Arthur WeasleyCurse the sun so I can howl at the moon...![]() PLACE OF BIRTH/CURRENT RESIDENCE: The Burrow, Ottery St. Catchpole, England / Brockenhurst, New Forest, Hampshire, England (halfway between London and The Burrow for easy access to both) OWL AND/OR PETS: The old screech owl he received for becoming prefect during his 5th year, Edwina. HOUSE: Gryffindor Alum YEAR: Class of 1988 DE, OOTP, NEUTRAL, UNDECIDED: OOTP, just as most of his family and close friends are Family Pureblood traitor, and proud to be one. He has no qualms about his status and is more than willing to side by his muggleborn and half-blood friends. Arthur Weasley--Father Molly Weasley nee Prewett--Mother. Molly had always regarded Bill as her pride and joy, the leader of her small pack. Her near-hatred of Fleur, however, was more than obvious, and Bill has found himself walking on eggshells around her ever since. Charlie Weasley--Younger Brother by 3 Years. The closest to Bill not only in age, but as brothers. Worries constantly about him being in Romania, but knows if anyone can take care of himself versus the dragons, his outdoorsy, atheltic younger brother can. Percy Weasley--Younger Brother by 6 Years Fred and George Weasley--Twin Younger Brothers by 8 Years Ronald Weasley--Younger Brother by 10 Years Ginevra Weasley--Younger Sister by 11 Years. Bill's one true weak spot among the mass of boys. Can still easily wrap him around her little finger, although he has picked up on her dislike of Fleur and is somewhat hurt by it. Fleur Delacour--Wife, married in June of 1997. Goes primarily by her maiden name, due to the quiet secrecy of their marriage. Uncles Gideon and Fabian Prewett--Died during the first war, members of the original Order Great Auntie Muriel--Offered the goblin-made tiara that Fleur wore during her wedding to Bill that Molly offered HISTORY: Bill Weasley was never exactly...perfect. Like many little kids, and the majority of the Weasleys, Bill had a bit of a wild streak. He climbed trees, he jumped off the roof in an attempt to fly (fortunately only spraining an ankle), and he taunted his younger brothers constantly. Bill's one true responsible point was little Ginny when she came into the world. Where he felt he could be very rough and tumble with the boys, he was always much more gentle and caring with Ginny. Unfortunately, all of his brothers didn't agree, and Ginny turned into a bit of a spitfire anyway, but Bill will say wholeheartedly that that isn't his fault. He's very protective of all of his siblings, though, taking his responsibility as the oldest quite seriously and though he's allowed to torture and torment them, no one else can. It's that hint of responsibility that made him perfect to be a prefect during his Hogwarts years. At first, Molly and Arthur were a bit surprised their oldest son had been trusted with such an honour. It wasn't long, though, before they were reveling in it, letting Bill have a bit more freedom around the house and buying him his own owl, a small screech owl named Edwina. At first, he flaunted his new status, especially over his younger brothers, Charlie and Percy. It didn't take long for the novelty to wear off, though, and before long he'd settled into simply taking points when necessary (with an occasional jab at the Slytherins when possible). Ancient runes, arithmancy, and charms had all been strong points of Bill's, and when the time came to take his OWLs, he admitted to Minerva McGonagall, already Gryffindor Head of House, that he'd like to work as a curse breaker. Due to Bill's 'look' and his wild manner, McGonagall had questioned his judgment at first. It was difficult work, and quite a professional position. He threw himself headfirst into his studies, however, even earning himself a place as Head Boy during his seventh year. His determination paid off, and when Bill pulled in several top mark NEWTs, McGonagall more than willingly wrote him a letter of recommendation. After two years of training, he was sent out to Egypt to retrieve the fortunes buried deep within the ancient tombs. Bill loved adventure, and his time in Egypt embraced that. He quickly grew accustomed to the hot sun and the biting sand. It was in Egypt where Bill first truly fell in love. He'd dated around a bit at Hogwarts, and even had a couple of serious girlfriends. But in Egypt, he met a witch working alongside of him, a Spanish girl named Elena. The two began a relationship a few years into Bill's time there. The subject of marriage had even come up, and Bill was preparing himself to propose. But everything came to a halt when he went up to Hogwarts to watch Harry participate in the Triwizard Third Task. He fully believed the news that Voldemort had returned. Elena didn't, insulted his family and friends who did believe, and the relationship quickly fizzled. Bill was more than willing to pack up and move back to London, taking a desk job at Gringott's to be near his family and the Order, which he'd promptly begged to be a part of. During his time at Hogwarts for the Tournament, he'd been so focused on Elena that it had never occured to him to take a second look at the Beauxbatons champion. She was too young to receive more than a second glance anyway. At least, in his mind. And by the time he returned to London and began working for the wizarding bank in a more stable environment, Bill had let all thoughts of the part-Veela slip his mind. He was still heartbroken over Elena's distrust in him, and anxious about his and his family's part in the cause. The idea of another relationship wasn't even in his cards. But Fleur Delacour wasn't born to the daughter of a Veela for no reason. Though it took some prodding from his coworkers, he finally noticed the younger girl's interest and asked her for a date. Her English was shaky, his French was worse, but they slowly began to form a relationship despite the odds. His mother didn't approve because she thought Fleur was spoiled and snobby. Fleur's parents didn't approve because Bill was poor. But, after several long talks and quite a few dates, Bill found Fleur supported the Order's beliefs, and during the summer of 1996, he proposed. He knew they'd have much to overcome, but Bill figured it would all fall into place in time. What Bill hadn't counted on, though, was the last and worst obstacle before his marriage. He was asked by Dumbledore to help patrol at the school with McGonagall, Tonks, and Remus. It sounded so routine that Bill didn't hesitate to head up to Hogwarts and do just that. The details are still fuzzy. He remembers hearing voices. He remembers unfamiliar faces. And the next thing he remembers is immense pain. He woke up in the hospital wing hours later, only vaguely remembering his wand being knocked out of his hand as he was pounced by a full grown human being. Not only had he lost one of his strongest mentors, but he'd be disfigured for the rest of his life and was facing life as a newlywed with a strain of werewolf as yet undiscovered in him. For the most part, though, things fell into place for Bill. Though he doesn't fully transform, as it wasn't a full moon when Greyback attacked him, he does get a bit more body hair and his limbs do grow a bit longer, a painful process helped by Wolfsbane. More lasting effects include a taste for more rare meat and a weak, tired feeling around the full moon. The hardest part, though, was coming to terms with the fact that he wasn't, in face, the perfect, good-looking oldest Weasley brother any longer. Though never truly vain, Bill had come to take his looks for granted. With the support from his fiance, plus the apparent truce between Molly and Fleur, Bill was able to overlook the physical and focus on the fact that he was alive. He even went so far as to cut his beloved ponytail--mostly because he had to face extra hair as it was, but also because he'd do anything to make Molly happy with the worry she'd been through. It was that attack, though, that caused he and Fleur to agree to keep their marriage quiet. Most in the wizarding world didn't even know the wedding had occured, outside of Bill and Fleur's friends and families. His sole goal was to keep his new wife and his family safe. Just as he had as a young child, Bill threw himself whole-heartedly into being protective and putting his family (and his close friends by extension) into as much of a safe situation as he could. Occasionally, it drives the people in question a bit mad, but Bill's willing to overlook that in order to be the person they need. DESCRIPTION: Being the oldest has instilled an unshakeable sense of responsibility in Bill. With so many younger siblings, he's completely protective, and that has spread over the years to his friends as well as his family. A few ex-girlfriends even grew to resent how protective and considerate he could be. Molly's also raised him to be extremely polite, and Arthur has taught him respect. In American culture, he'd be a boyscout he's so...nice. Despite everything that's happened to him, however, Bill is still a fun-loving, mischievous guy. A blend of all of his siblings, Bill's got the twins sense of trouble, Percy's maturity, Charlie's zest for life, Ron's devotion and loyalty, and Ginny's passion and fire. Where Fleur appreciates the finer things in life, Bill embraces the small things. Growing up in such a large, poor family, Bill had to be very understanding about not having the best. He's very street smart, compassionate, and accepting. Never holding any resentment for their family's lack of funds, Bill always let comments about the Weasleys' wealth slide off his back. Instead, he compensated by wrapping himself up in things he considered 'fun'. He played Quidditch as a chaser during his last two years of school, he loves going to Wizard rock concerts (and has even slipped into a few Muggle ones--Radiohead is his favourite so far), and of course, there's that adventerous streak that led him to Egypt instead of a nice, safe job in London. More than anything, though, Bill is determined. He's finally getting his life in order, becoming more involved in his large family and starting his own. His protective nature is starting to come forward, and Bill longs to get this war done and over and help the Order win in order to start his life and learn to adjust as a lycanthrope. Disclaimer: Modly Jules says to put this here because some people really believe that *I* believe I am or wrote Bill Weasley. I didn't. This is a character journal for a Harry Potter based RPG...duh. There's no such thing as wizards and dragons and dementors and...stuff. Jo's work, not mine. Josh Homme presumably owns himself, as well. | |||||||||
